FIELD NOTES / 001 / POOLPIN

Price is not depth.

A ticker can be loud while its market is thin. POOLPIN looks below the headline price and puts the pools behind one Solana mint on the same screen.

Price is not depth. Pixel illustration.

One token can have several markets

A token is not a single pool. The same Solana mint can appear in different venues, paired with different assets and supported by different amounts of liquidity. A quoted price alone compresses those differences into a number. POOLPIN is a read-only field instrument for opening that number back up. Its name combines the pool being inspected with the act of pinning a reading for comparison.

The address comes first

Paste the exact mint address into the scanner. POOLPIN checks that it decodes to a 32-byte Solana public key, then requests public pool data from DEX Screener. The response is filtered to Solana pools that contain that exact mint, and repeated pool addresses are removed. A valid address does not establish that a token is authentic or safe. Verify the mint independently; tickers and names can be reused.

Read liquidity and activity separately

The table reports each venue, pair, available liquidity, 24-hour volume and a token price when the queried mint is the base token. Missing values remain unavailable. Liquidity is a reported size at the time of the snapshot. Volume is activity over a trailing window. Neither is a guarantee that a position can be sold for the displayed price. Concentrated liquidity, active price ranges, pool fees, token mechanics and trade size all affect actual execution.

Pin a comparison instead of chasing a ranking

Sort by reported liquidity or 24-hour volume. Apply a minimum-liquidity filter. Pin up to three pools for a side-by-side reading. A depth profile displays up to sixteen of the largest reported pools, with bar heights relative to the largest one. Each bar can pin its pool. This makes uneven distribution visible without pretending the chart is an executable route.

A simple example of a misleading headline

Suppose two hypothetical pools both show the same token near $0.01. Pool A reports $50,000 in liquidity and $500,000 in 24-hour volume. Pool B reports $500,000 in liquidity and $100,000 in volume. Their volume-to-liquidity ratios are 10× and 0.2×. That is a difference in observed turnover, not a quality score. Activity can be repetitive or manipulated; nominal liquidity can be concentrated away from the useful price range. The comparison is a prompt for investigation, not a buy signal.

Follow every reading back to its source

Every table row and pinned pool links to the corresponding DEX Screener page. The scan result shows when it was fetched, and the export preserves the exact mint, snapshot time, readings and selected pins. The summary totals only figures available in that response. API limits, indexing coverage or missing pools can make it incomplete. No result does not prove that no market exists.

Where POOLPIN stops

POOLPIN does not execute swaps, produce a slippage quote, audit token authorities, validate ownership or rank a token as safe. It does not connect a wallet or collect a trading fee. Token mint queries go to the public data provider; they are not submitted as orders. No POOLPIN token or contract address has been announced. Before any real trade, inspect the asset and obtain a current quote from the venue you intend to use.

A quieter question for a noisy market

The question is not which ticker is moving fastest. It is which pools are carrying the market, what their readings actually mean and where the evidence comes from. Same token. Different depth.
